Individual Client Research
Doing time in federal prison isn’t easy. It is something that you do not look forward to but know that you have to do it. There is no way around it; you must do your own federal prison time. At the Prison Consulting Group we get to know our clients and their families. Everyone is unique. Each client has his own special circumstances, facts and events which brought him to this point in his life. PCG identifies all these circumstances, facts, and events and cross references them against the over 289 Bureau of Prisons’ Program Statements to assist the client, his family, and his legal team in regulating and directing pre- and post-incarceration related issues. PCG starts immediately, before sentencing, to help the client take control of his situation, his life. This pre-sentence research is without a doubt one of the most important factors for the defendant. This is the critical time during which the defendant’s Pre-Sentence Investigation Report is developed. The Pre-Sentence Investigation Report (PSR) or "Bible" as it is called is the single most important item in determining facility designation, program participation, length of federal prison sentence, and inmate perks and upgrades among other things. Individual Client Research lays the groundwork for positioning the client in the best possible light for all these programs."PCG provides individualized client research for each of our clients. No two people are the same and no two cases are the same."
We are not attorneys. Your attorney is charged with the task of preparing your case, negotiating possible plea agreements, and centering on the non-mandatory U.S. Sentencing Guidelines to determine your gross sentence calculation. They are uniquely disciplined and highly qualified in arguing your case before the court, developing defense strategies and reviewing your Pre-Sentencing Investigation Report (PSI/PSR). However, many attorneys may not be fully knowledgeable in the Bureau of Prisons' policies, procedures and Program Statements. They are not able to take advantage of this opportunity to position the client to achieve the most favorable net sentence. After all they have not been in prison and do not know what you will be facing in prison. Their responsibilities stop at your sentencing. The staff at PCG specializes in strategic federal prison planning and client positioning. Some of the PCG staff members have been through this process, have been to federal prison, and have developed strategic programs and comprehensive planning to assist the client to position himself appropriately to take full advantage of the policies, procedures, and programs while in federal prison.
"Each client receives individualized attention. Our work is not a mass produced product, it is specific and customized for the client."
It is important to note that the PSR is commissioned by the Court and authored by a U.S. Probation Officer under the auspices of the Probation Department. The Probation Officer responsible for your PSR often works hand in hand with the Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) prosecuting your case. Needless to say, your PSR may reflect the most negative aspects about you. The Department of Justice and the Assistant United States Attorney's goal is to administer what they feel is the appropriate justice and exact their "pound of flesh”. You need an advocate on your side, you need the Prison Consulting Group.
"We pride ourselves on our work and our success."
